'Portland Tribune' Continues Meltdown?

'PDX Media Insider' Says More Layoffs

Back in February of last year, there was a round of layoffs at the Portland Tribune, which led us to wonder is is was going to become a "crappy city tabloid".

Since the launch of the PDX Media Insider blog, they've been covering the latest spasms of insanity over at the Pamplin media empire, which includes the moving of the Tribune staff to Clackamas.

Well, at some point yesterday although we anaged to not see it until just now, PDX Media Insider posted the latest scuttlebutt: More layoffs of Tribune reporters and columnists.

"I don't get it," says one anonymous commenter over there. "How do you publish a paper without writers?"

When you can have an entire mainstream media with a 6-second attention span and a 2-term president without a brain, how hard can it be to have a newspaper without writers?

Maybe the Zoo can outsource some of it's monkeys to make some extra cash - a win-win scenario!

Hmm, well, I noticed Spitznass is still writing for the paper...Didn't bother to look for the others but could this all have been a bit of presumption of the media insiders sources part?

It would not appear that PDX Media Insider was wrong, no.
