Oregon Senate Passes Civil Unions Bill
House Dems Call For 'Fair And Complete' Hearing
Despite our extended coverage last year of the same-sex marriage controversy, we've been less attentive of the civil unions proposal that's been batting around Salem. But we'd be remiss if we failed to mention that the Oregon Senate passed it today.
Since we've not been tracking the story as it progressed, we'll turn this item over to a linky series of pointers elsewhere.

For reference, this is the bill adopted by the Senate today, which now must move to the other chamber. House Democrats this afternoon released a statement calling for a "fair and complete" hearing on the civil unions bill.
"This is a momentous issue for which we should not prejudge the outcome in the House," said House Democratic Leader Jeff Merkley via press release. "It's important to have a debate and a vote on the floor of the House on this historic bill."
