Electronic Frontier Foundation Publishes Legal Guide For Bloggers
One-Stop Shopping For The Fundamentals
Just a quick detour into the meta-blogging conversation since there's a new resource out there that participants in the Portland blogosphere probably should bookmark.
Available online from the Electronic Frontier Foundation is a new legal guide for bloggers, which offers FAQs on legal liability (including intellectual property and defamation), journalism (including confidential sources and public records), and other issues (including election law and labor law).
Whether or not you happen to consider yourself a journalist-blogger, if you blog you inherently are a publisher and it's worth taking some time to become familiar with some of the basis. As always, such guides are not a substitute for legal advice. Should the time come when such a thing is necessary, consult an attorney.
