Rates For 'Standard' Advertisements Reduced

Because What We Thought Was A Sensible Increase Hasn't Worked Out

When we re-opened advertising opportunities here in the wake of our most recent redesign, we set our rates based upon the increase in site traffic based upon the last time we took advertising here.

At the time, it seemed a perfectly sensible formula to use to set the new rates, but as you may notice, we've had absolutely no ads since bringing back the opportunity to advertise.

While we're keeping the "Premium" level ad rates right where we set them (although that may change as well), we've reduced our "Standard" ad rates somewhat, in an attempt to make the slots more enticing to potential advertisers.

These reduced rates mean that advertising won't quite do enough to make up our monthly funding gap, but of course the point is that something is better than the nothing we're currently receiving from advertising.
