Serenity Now!
We Picked A Fine Gorram Time To Stop Paying Attention
Rules are made to broken at least once, for it is by the exceptions that the rules take on their meaning.
That's our story and we're sticking to it because we need an excuse, a rationalization for this post, which has utterly and completely nothing to do with Portland politics or similarly related topics.
Next month, on the evening of May 5, there is an advance screening of Serenity here in Portland. While we had been dutifully following the various Firefly boards for most of the day in the wake of the release of the trailer, when we finally stopped obsessing in such a fashion and went off to do other things... they promptly announced a bunch of screenings and we missed out chance to try to snag a ticket.
So. This is where the rule-breaking comes in.
Which of you managed to get some of those tickets, and which of you wishes to reward us for our two years of Portland Communique by helping us get in to see the Big Damn Movie?

Browncoats break rules. If any of your readers don't comprehend the importance of your post, I'd refer them to what Louis Armstrong said when asked to define "jazz."
Man, if you gotta ask you'll never know.
I got your tickets (2 of them). Let me know off-line how I can get them to you. I'll be downtown for a lunch tomorrow (Wednesday, 4/27). Maybe I can meet you at one of the Stumptowns.

We bought tickets just fine this morning. Go here (you might have to register if you haven't already) and follow the Fandango link for the Portland showing.

CW: Woke up to email from a friend who snaggged one for me when he bought his. So, thanks, but now you can go help some other Browncoat!
Kip: Yeah that's where I was hitting last night, but for an hour of repeated attempts, it was reporting sold out. I'm gathering by some board posts this morning however that it may have been a system bug, because now it reports sold out at the beginning of the tickeitng process rather than at the end, which was what it was doing last night.

If anyone has an extra ticket to sell, I would be happy to take it off your hands! I got to fandango too late.

Heather: Since b!X won't be in need of the two extras I bought, they're all yours. You can link to my website by clicking on the CW handle below, and contact me via my website's administrative e-mail. Let me know how best to get them to you and we'll get it squared away. If not, no worries, I'm sure there's an intern over at the Bus Project I can gift them to.

For those who have contacted me - sorry, but the tickets have already been given away. Hope you can find yourselves another pair somewhere out there.

Bastards.
It taint nice to envy fellow Browncoats. But I watched the Big Damn Trailer go up in real time and was there when Joss first posted about the showings. I could have easily bought my way to bliss.
But I can't get back to stumptown in time. My geek fury knows no limits.

Someone who got tickets lost the opportunity to attend. She then decided to auction them on eBay. Not only did I win them, but the profits are going to Basic Rights Oregon! BONUS!
