Our Idle Pondering For This Weekend

Giving New Meaning To Softball Questions

Here's what we'd like to see this Summer as part of the ongoing experiment in productive interaction and/or occasional tension between bloggers and traditional media in the Portland metropolitan area.

We need a charity softball game wherein those two sides of the media coin face off against each other.

Of course, we're beginning the process of our relocation. And then in June we have jury duty, unless they decide they don't want a local political blogger sitting on a jury. So someone else will have to turn this particular idea into a reality.

But we do own two gloves, and are willing to play. So, like, someone make it happen.

There's already a media intermural baseball league; KBOO used to whup serious butt. I'm not sure how to sign up or who's in charge, but it's out there. There's also, if I'm not mistaken, some kind of bowling league. Of course, if you get all the left-leaning bloggers in one field or on one alley, it would be easier for terrorists to take them all out.....that's why bloggers run alone, I thought...safety. L

Why givethe edge to the Traditional press by playing Softball, a game they have made a profession at?

I say, old skool 6 person tag team last person standing cage match. No tap outs, no disqualifications.

I have my lucha mask (purcahsed over from Spoinks on Belmont) at the ready to assume my role as BigBloggerDaddy - the mountian of free speach and PAAAAAAAAAAAAIIIINNN

I suck at softball. But I'm a great scorekeeper.

I volunteer to be the scorekeeper for the lefty bloggers.

I even have some sharp pencils around here somewhere.

Were you signed up for our PDX Metblogs Meetup? Well, we're disbanding it, due to some administrative changes happening over at Meetup (rumors are that they're wanting us to pony up cold hard cash for their services and, well -...
