(Updated) Oregon Supreme Court Set To Rule On Same-Sex Marriage?

So We Hear, Anyway

Note: This post has been updated. Any and all updates appear at the end of the original post.

That's the hot rumor bubbling up from Salem this morning. Specifically, the word is that the Court will issue its ruling sometime tomorrow.

Yes, that is, quite literally, all we have on the subject right now. After we get our coffee, we'll see what else we can scare up.

Update

While no notice has yet been posted to the relevant website, rumors persist that the decision is more or less imminent -- although that may mean next week rather than tomorrow.

That was the buzz on Tuesday, when the court issued its PERS decision unusually early in the week [signaling something might happen today]. But as for the Li case, WWP's source says "not today."

Then again, one never knows with the supremes...

Well, my source didn't say today, they said tomorrow. ;)

That said, all of that would be why I used the question mark and the word "rumor". Heh.

The Supreme Court always announces the day before that it is going to issue a decision -- and it posts the announcement on its website. There is no announcement about any decision tomorrow.

That's right: There is no announcement today for a decision tomorrow...the point WWP in haste failed to make. [Thanks, ConLawyer. See you around.]

Well, the tip I had (from someone not random) told me to watch that publications page.

Nonetheless, presumably such announcements are posted earlier than later, the current time of day qualifying as later.

I have heard that they do not always post the announcement. It can come at anytime.

It's okay to rely on the website; some folks get a phone call.

Next week? Always a possibility. In any event, WWP won't be here to get the call, if/when it comes.

    C'est la vie.
