(Updated) 'Filling The Local Vacuum'
More Attention For 'Communique'
Note: This post has been updated. Any and all updates appear at the end of the original post.
Things have been comparatively light here lately in terms of actual news, because we've been off working on something that we hope to be able to post later today.
In the meantime, we drop a note of distracting self-promotion, since we recently were one of the subjects of an article on locally-oriented bloggers over at the Personal Democracy Forum.
If we get the time, and if we clear it with the other party, we may assemble the full email interview which sourced the part about us, which you'll find if you scroll down to, "Filling the Local Vacuum".
Meanwhile, since we're posting one of these "meta" items, please note that all entries now include a "print" link which will bring up a printer-friendly version which includes converting all hyperlinks into footnotes.
Update
FYI, the same methods we utilized to add printer-friendly pages we currently are adapting in order to make the generation of pdfs which we've used in the past to publish print editions of Portland Communique much easier and quicker. Although we've hit a snag in that regard, once again related to how different browsers handle print-only stylesheets (too convoluted to go into here).
Just a random note to that handful of readers who have ever even had a reason to want print editions. Although this time around, we've going to be adding a couple of category-specific books, including one of all of our same-sex marriage posts from last year.

Obivously, no post yet on what we're working on.

Very, very cool usage of the print option. I love the footnotes. This is exactley the kind of feature that makes websites more relevant in the academic and research communities. Keep up the good work!

I hope that you do the same thing with your Media category (please)?
Out of curiosity -- am I somehow overlooking an "arts and culture" category in your archives?
The One True b!X on 06 Feb 2005
There never was an arts category.
Meanwhile, as an FYI and although it's not an official relaunch yet, the first year of this site been properly reformatted and reprinted over at PORTLAND COMMUNIQUE Press, via Lulu.

Wow. Just a quick note to say that I'm really enjoying the latest look and feel of the Communique - especially some of the minute details. Excellent work!
