At Last, Another Weighty Portland Tome

Returning To Our Proper Reading Regimen

Thanks to the fact that Powell's offers a notification service through which they send you email when a title you're seeking comes into their inventory, we at last have ourselves our very own copy of The Growth of a City: Power and Politics in Portland, Oregon 1915 to 1950 by E. Kimbark MacColl.

We believe that this is the sole remaining MacColl book on Portland which we had not yet gotten, as it has proven to be the most difficult of those books to locate.

Weighing in at something over 700 pages, we began to wade into it late this afternoon, within an hour of its arrival at our mailbox, and we look forward to the rather intensive endeavor of working all the way through.

And our thanks once more to Powell's for their notification service. We ordered this book no more than five minutes after receiving notification and are happy to have it firmly in hand, at last.
