Happy Anniversary To Us
'Communique' Hits Two Year Mark
In case you somehow missed the references over the past week: Today is the two-year anniversary of Portland Communique.
Two years ago today, this site launched with a whopping two posts -- the inappropriate-titled introductory item, and a mention of eventual changes to Burnside. So we began this little experiment with a "meta" post and a design post.
One year ago today, we started with an item on police reform, a report on a meet-and-greet we did for our one-year anniversary, the news that Mayoral candidate James Posey had won a High School class' mock vote, and something about police officers and swearing (complete with bad pun in the headline).
In the days following our one-year anniversary, we assembled some "year in review" items. We haven't yet decided if that's on the agenda this time around or not.
Meanwhile, we'll be making our usual rounds today of our downtown satellite office and our neighborhood branch office, and then possibly going to see a friend of ours allegedly play a gig at Towne Lounge.
And, as mentioned earlier this month, our anniversary present appears to be tomorrow's final cancellation of the Pioneer Courthouse Square ice rink proposal, two years to the day after we first wrote about it.
