A Quick Weekend 'Meta' Post
Some Statistics, A Restored Feature, And An Anniversary
Just three quick items about the site itself, which we'll try to dash off as briefly as possible so as not to distract from the regular content here.
First, using whatever process our third-party statistics provder uses, we received our 150,000th visitor earlier today. Once upon a time, we posted after every 10,000 mark, but once we hit 100,000 that seemed a little superfluous.
(For what it's worth, to look at an entirely different number, our internally-hosted log analysis tool indicates that since our December 2002 launch, we've drawn 1,344,728 page views.)
Second, those who made use of it will want to know that we appear to have restored the recently-commented-on functionality, so readers should be able to track what posts have recently seen comment activity.
Third and finally, the 21st of this month marks this site's two-year anniversary. If actually we decide we should do something out in the offline world to commemorate this, we'll let you know.
