Our Endorsements Versus Election Results
Okay, So How Did We Do?
There may be some deeper ways in which we get into the local and state election results, at some point. For now, however, we're just going to offer a quick and dirty sizing up of just how we did in terms of our endorsements.
Our picks for City Hall -- Tom Potter and Sam Adams won. We made no endorsement in the uncontested Commissioner No. 4 race, whose result was a foregone conclusion.
For these Portland races, then, we were two for two.
Moving on to the Multnomah County ballot measures, we find that Measure No. 26-57, which we endorsed, won; Measure No. 26-58, which we did not endorse, won; Measure No. 26-59, which we endorsed, won; Measure No. 26-60, which we did not endorsed, lost; Measure No. 26-61, which we did not endorse, lost; Measure No. 26-62, which we endorsed, won; Measure No. 26-63, which we endorsed, won; and Measure No. 26-64, which we did not endorse, lost.
For these County measures, then, we were seven for eight.
Finally, on to the statewide ballot measures, where we find that Measure 31, which we endorsed, won; Measure 32, which we endorsed, won; Measure 33, which we did not endorse, lost; Measure 34, which we did not endorse, lost; Measure 35, which we did not endorse, lost; Measure 36, which we did not endorse, won; Measure 37, which we did not endorse, won; and Measure 38, which we did not endorse, lost.
For these statewide measures, then, we were six for eight.
