Non-Partisan Election Night Events?

Any of our readers happen to know of any non-partisan (meaning unaffiliated with any candidates) election night gatherings? Had we gotten our act together, we should have tried to arrange for one, perhaps at someplace like the downtown Stumptown Coffee Roasters, since they have wifi and we'd be able to post throughout the evening.

As it is, we're trying to determine our activities for election night. On the one hand, we could make a furious stab at visting the election night parties for each of the candidates we endorse. On the other hand, we could try to find one place to be all evening, but it would have to be someplace with Internet access so that we can post.

So, anyone know of anything? Or should we try to make a last-minute attempt at trying to put one together (which isn't very likely at this point)? Or should we just camp out at headquarters?

I have been looking to co-host a voters appreciation night party on the 18th with other candidates. I contacted the Oregon Food Bank about participating, but I have not heard back. I was thinking that there could be a cover of: a ballot and a can of food (with a ballot box on hand), or two cans of food to be donated. I was planning to see if Disjecta may be available or another venue. I know of two bands that would be willing to play for free. I am open to working with other candidates for any office on this, as well as anyone else who thinks this may be a good idea.

hey b!X, if you all organize something at Stumptown, I'll be there, it would be nice to have it somewhere I could bring my toddler. He LOVES Stumptown.

So get this. According to an email newsletter thing that came in earlier today, it looks like the Bus Project will be touring around to all the election night parties. Anyone want to get in on that as a sort of COMMUNIQUE contingent?

the downtown one is his favorite, because it echoes, and there is lots of room to run & jump, but the one on Division usually has lots of dogs and babies around so it's also fun.
