Brief Self-Promotional Blah Blah

Yes, sometime yesterday we the 80,000 visitor came in. We made a note of the referer at the time but put this entry off until today -- he or she came here through a Google search for Dan Wieden of all things. Not sure we've even mentioned him since the launch of Brand Oregon months ago.

Once again, it took three weeks to go from one marker to another, 70,000 to 80,000. That seems to be the prevailing traffic pattern now, although we'll see how much of that was due to election coverage, which of course now will be somewhat diminished until the general election runoffs kick into gear.

Meanwhile, the results so far on our reader survey are interesting. We're holding off reporting on any of that until we close the survey down on June 7.

Ignore this comment. It is only here for me to test implementing the redesign as it pertains to the comments area.

By the way, we've also switched over to our new advertising service provider, which is why the ads in the right-hand sidebar now include (gasp!) images in addition to text.

Is this some sort of protest of unsatisfactory Willamette River cleanup efforts and an excessive need for clean air action days?

Also, I really don't mind the BlogAds images.

Portland is the greatest city in the world. I've lived here all of my 22 years. The greatest part of Portland? It's local bands of course! www.thegoodflame.com will open you up to a world of Portland musical goodness, and it's FREE!!!

You do realize that when I said "self-promotional" I was speaking oy myself, not opening up a thread for people to pitch themselves.

Also FWI, I'll get back to content here at some point. I spent the first part of the day today helping a friend move, so not much action in terms of posting today.

This is another ignorable comment. Just testing something.

Link color will change to something slightly more to the red side of the reddish brown it is now, at some point.

For anyone who might have caught it, yes I was playing with activating Typekey comment registration. But for some reason it spiked my server's load to 25+ with dozens upon dozens of perl processes, so I've taken it all away again.

Ok, that's deeply weird. I've removed all the Typekey data from these pages and it still thinks I am posting via my Typekey login. What the bloody Hell.

  12. The One True b!X's PORTLAND COMMUNIQUE on 30 May 2004

    Let's try this again.

  14. The One True b!X's PORTLAND COMMUNIQUE on 30 May 2004

It won't let me shake off my Typekey login. I'm not even logged into Typekey anymore. And yet it continues to use my Typekey data.

F*CK THIS. Trying out Typekey at all has broken my comments. Thanks, Six Apart!

Ok, let's try this one more time, after deleting all cookies from this site.
