(Updated) A Rare Monday Campaign Round-Up

Note: This post has been updated. Any and all updates appear at the end of the original post.

First off, a reminder of OregonLive's online Mayoral debate to be held at 1:00 PM this Thursday. Readers can submit questions for the debate between Phil Busse, Jim Francesconi, James Posey and Tom Potter. We should be there in their studios for this one, so we likely won't have an item up about it until later that afternoon.

Meanwhile, speaking of online activities, KATU has a Mayoral poll up at the moment. As of this hour, this entirely unscientific poll has Busse in the lead, with 35% to Francesconi's 24%, Potter's 23%, Posey's 5%, "Other Candidate" at 5%, and "None" at 7%, with 342 votes counted. They've also published Q&A items for each of the "big four" candidates.

This week, the 2nd Pre-Election campaign finance reports are due (no earlier than today, and no later than Thursday). Keep an eye on this City Elections Division page for these latest reports. In theory, this is also the week we should find out what re-reporting the Potter campaign might have had to do, unless they've already done so and we missed it (they've still yet to respond to our inquiries about it). Also seemingly in limbo: Busse's promised "immediate reporting" of contributions via his campaign website.

Over at News4Neighbors, they have items of Frank Dixon on reservoirs, software, and leashes, Scott Stephens on other reader questions, and a call for readers to help the site make an endorsement in the Commissioner No. 4 race.

Finally (we think), we've now seen ads for both Sam Adams and Nick Fish on television, which means we've now seen ads for them, for Randy Leonard, and Jim Francesconi (who now actually has two ads running).

Disclosure: PORTLAND COMMUNIQUE accepts political advertisements, and currently runs ads from the Busse, Francesconi, and Potter campaigns.

Update

Two other items we've just come across. First, there's Paul Leistner on reservoirs, software, and leashes. And then there are candidate answers on the arts to questions posed by the Regional Arts & Culture Council.

Update

Meanwhile, with today being the start of the four available days for filing 2nd Pre-Election reports, we're fairly certian that today was the deadline for filing amendments to 1st Pre-Election reports. If there were any corrections to the Potter reports that needed to be filed, today was the day by which they had to do it. Looking at the list of 1st Pre-Election filings for Mayoral candidates, we can see that Jerry Adams, Phil Busse, James Posey, and Jeffrey Rempfer all filed amendments by today's date. But there's nothing listed from the Potter campaign.

Again, if they had ever responded to our repeated inquiring about the amendment they themelves told The Oregonian they would need to file, we might have some insight t pass along. As it is, we'll have to wait until someone else bothers to follow-up on this matter and let us know what's the deal.

We got a multi-page color glossy brochure from the Adams campaign in the mail today.

Yeah, got that here today, too. Plus, during one of the local newscasts, I saw an Adams ad immediately followed by a Francesconi ad immediately followed by a Leonard ad.

I got the Adams mailer today too....I am not an Adams leaner but I thought it made a good case for the guy. What did you guys think?

Same here. It had sort of a "Sam Adams, Wonderboy" quality to it, but it was worth a read.

By the way, while you're experimenting with link effects, b!X, you might want to try the inverse of the other links on the page -- underine when inactive, no underline when hovered/active. Just a suggestion.

One of the interesting things about the Sam Adams, Wonderboy booklet is that it doesn't mention in what capacity Sam was able to do all these things...heh heh heh. It's still one of the better mailings I've seen
