A Rare Early (In The Week) Election News Round-Up
Normally, there's no need for a campaign round-up, but things are picking up, and the next few days are going to be heavy on inquest news. And since having repaired our wireless network here at PORTLAND COMMUNIQUE headquarters, the motivation to be productive is returning to its normal levels (which would account for the increased activity here lately). So here we go.
First, the News4Neighbors site has three new additions to their election coverage. First, there's Mark Lakeman on reservoirs, software, and leashes, then there's Paul Leistner on experience, and finally there's Scott Stephens on reservoirs, software, and leashes. In addition, the N4N team is seeking reader assistance on compiling further questions to ask the candidates.
Over in today's Portland Tribune, they examine some of money's role in the primary campaigns, and Phil Stanford asserts that Randy Leonard "secretly" backs Nick Fish for the Commissioner No. 1 position.
And speaking of Leonard, today's Oregonian takes another look at the neighborhood insurgency against him, and also offers summaries of all of the candidates in that race.
Finally, also in today's Oregonian, columnist Steve Duin checks in on the Commissioner No. 1 race's "major" candidates, Sam Adams and Nick Fish. Duin comments that Adams' "campaign Web site is much more detailed" -- a point we're going to come back to later this week.
