Technical Difficulties

Please Stand By

Our wifi network at home mysteriously vanished between this morning and this afternoon, and we have thus far been entirely unable to get into the configuration for the Airport base station. We have an item or two to post, and could do it by plugging into the regular ethernet network (as we are doing right now), but we need to try to get this sorted out. No ETA, however, since we haven't the slightest idea at this point how to get into the configuration for the base, and we've tried every possible option of which we are aware.

This problem has no effect on this website, however, and has nothing to do with our general connectivity to the Internet.

Not that you need lots of random tech advice but have you tried resetting the airport?

1.) Unplug the power supply from the AirPort Base Station and plug it back in.

2.) Turn the Base Station over.

3.) When all three status lights glow amber, insert the end of a paper clip into the reset button hole on the bottom of the Base Station.

4.) Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds.

Note: The middle status light on the Base Station will glow amber. If the light turns green, the base station has not been reset successfully. Follow the steps above to reset the Base Station again.

I think there is config software at apple.com/support. Most base stations let you access the config interface at http://192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1.
