The headline and subheadline should have been reversed, I think. Oh, well.

KGW TV at noon managed to get the whole story wrong, again. They were getting better earlier this week, so I'm disappointed.
Their report mentioned the upcoming 12:30 press conference, but not once in their reporting did the word "constitution" come up, they replayed the text of the statute and kept talking about the law, and how lawyers would be looking closelyl at words like "and" in this law, as though the vagueness of the law as the core of the arguement. (It's not.)
I repeat, not once did their reporter mention the constitution.
Then, via bad wording, they left the impression that it was the state supreme court who was issuing a writ of mandamus, and gave the impression that courts were leaning toward stopping gay marriage.
Sigh.

So KGW went to a commercial isntead of carrying the press conference live. Ugh.
And the anchor teased saying Attorney General said same-sex marriage illegal, but the graphic said the opposite!
Whoever is wathching other channels, please post a comment! :-)

Argh.
So I jumped the gun (but not as much as KGW)...
They ran file ftg of the gov and acted like the announcement had already been made.
When they came back from commercial the graphic was corrected to say "illegal", they said their reporter had phoned in the result, and that the press conference would being momentarily.
Get it together people, this is too important to screw up!
