(Updated) Update On Restoration Of DSL
Note: This post has been updated. Any and all updates appear at the end of the original post.
Having received confirmation that all the remaining detritus from the recent DSL snafu has been cleared away, we just placed the order for new DSL service. In theory, this places us 5-7 business days away from restoration of proper connectivity here at PORTLAND COMMUNIQUE global headquarters.
Presuming, of course, nothing else untoward occurs. And presuming, of course, no peculiar billing issues crop up related to not paying while we've not had service. We don't expect this to occur, but paranoia reigns supreme in this ongoing situation, especially since we already have ongoing electric bill issues (but that's an entirely different -- and entirely irrelevant -- sob story).
Once DSL connectivity is restored, this site will temporarily go dark so we can transition the content of this temporary server over to the original and proper server. Advance notice of this will be posted here.
Update
We are informed of a broadband delivery date of Feburary 24. That would be next Tuesday. It would also only be three business days, of which we are skeptical. But odder things have happened and we certainly will not argue if it comes to pass.
