(Updated) Local Weblog Writer Gets Hitched In San Francisco Gay Marriage-A-Thon

Note: This post has been updated. Any and all updates appear at the end of the original post.

Word comes to us via Worldwide Pablo that local weblog writer Jason Evans and boyfriend Bob Richardson were among the many who traveled to San Francisco this weekend to participate in that City's continuing string of gay marriages.

A short snippet from Jason's first post on the roadtrip:

So, we packed the car in a hurry, took off at about 5:45, drove all night through, arrived at City Hall at around 6:00 a.m. We saw only one couple at the door and Bob decided he'd go chat to see what was going on. They were a great lesbian couple who we'd end up becoming great friends with. Bob came back to the car, we headed to our friend's house, unpacked and went right back to City Hall. There had been about 20 or 30 couples lined up when we got there, but we were hurried to the FRONT of the line, since one of the grrrls had told EVERYONE in line that we had driven all the way from Portland to get married. She yelled "HEY, everybody, it's Jason and Bob from Portland!!" and we were greeted with a chorus of "WOOHOO's" and applause.

We'll leave it to Jason himself, and Paul of Worldwide Pablo (since he says the two of them are "close neighbors, dear friends and regular drinking buddies") to tell the story, so readers should simply click through. Our congratulations to Jason and Bob not only on the personal moment, but on the necessary strike in the culture wars as well.

Oh. And for giving us with Portland-area weblogs a directly-relevant angle through which to cover this story, of course.

Update

Readers here might recall the name Bob Richardson because of his transit mall analysis, which we've linked before.
