(Updated) Status Of Restoration Of 'Communique' Server
Note: This post has been updated. Any and all updates appear at the end of the original post.
Several aggravating days late, my ISP finally processed the order for a new DSL line. Now we all await the activation of the actual circuit, which could take as long as ten business days, or we could repeat what happened the first time around, last year, when it happened within 36 hours. It's anyone's guess at this point. But at least we are on our way, finally.
Update
Status email gives an install date of 12/18, which would be Thursday. So, in theory, things could be back to normal around here by the end of the week.
Update
Argh. Here is the latest update from Covad on this order:
Qwest advised us that conditioning is needed to remove load coils/bridge taps before this data line can be delivered. We submitted a supplement order to Qwest today authorizing them to move or condition the line. We expect to receive a response back from Qwest on the supplement order within 2 business days. Log notes will be updated again by 4:00 p.m. PST on 12/18/03.
Which is utterly confusing to me, since up until almost two weeks ago, I already had DSL via Speakeasy and Covad, at this same address, at this same telephone number. All of a sudden they need to do something to the line?
So, we're up in the air again.
