The Required Brief Bit Of Self-Promotional Puffery

On May 12, five months after its launch, this site had it's 10,000th visitor. Three months later, on August 18, it had it's 20,000th visitor.

Early this morning, another three months later, this site had its 30,000th visitor. They arrived via a search for 'Ghosts of Northwest Portland' -- but all they got was this old item about Portland Business Alliance head Kim Kimbrough and his penchant for pushing municipal ice rinks.

Thanks to all regular, semi-regular, and even irregular readers who've helped this experiment along over the nearly one full year since it's inception.

I think it is also appropriate that we, the readers, say thanks to you for a great site. I think your reports are objective and timely. As one who enjoys monitoring city politics I visit this site frequently every day. I also enjoy the comment threads. I think it would be nice if more folks would comment here, especially city leaders and candidates.

Agree w/ Dave. I visit a couple of times each day, and really value this site for the conscientious journalism and smart commentary it provides, plus it's the only place to get detailed personal comments from actual city leaders.

on another note, newsflash: just got back from a press conference announcing that Enron's selling PGE.
