New City Website's Email Notification System Goes A Little Haywire

Technically, I don't think the email notification system for the City's website is meant to be used just yet anyway. But it's possible to subscribe to it, as I did the week before its official launch, so that I'd get notifcations as new pages were added to the system as a whole.

For the past 24 hours, it's been sending out the same message ("Subject: ADM-4.03 - Guidelines for Neighborhood Associations, District Coalitions, Neighborhood Business Associations, Communities Beyond Boundaries, Alternative Service Delivery Structures and the Office of Neighborhood Involvement") approximately every thirty minutes.

The website's main page includes an "info" email address, mail to which bounces back undelivered. Attempting the standard "webmaster" email addresses also results in bounced messages. In the end, I sent email to the City's technology office (which uses the old ci.portland.or.us domain), which has not bounced. We'll see, however, how long it is before the notification system is nudged back into proper behavior.

None of this is especially important, but if anyone else out there actually bothered to subscribe to the site's notification system and has been receiving the same message over and over again, you're not alone. And presumably, at some point, someone over there will notice.
