'Backhaul Issue' At ISP Knocks Communique Offline For Almost Twelve Hours

Yes, we've been offline. At some point yesterday afternoon (5:35 PM according to their system status page), the local Speakeasy network dropped out, the result of what they called a "backhaul issue" at Covad.

The outage began at some point before 5:00 PM Pacific time, and lasted for nearly twelve hours. According to the system status page at Speakeasy, the outage had been resolved as of 4:05 AM.

Everything should be back to normal now. For what it's worth, this is the only major downtime I've ever experienced with Speakeasy since starting up with them over a year ago.
