Better Portland Alliance Throws Support to Upstart Recall Campaign?

Curiouser and curiouser. Just in over the wires moments ago from the Better Portland Alliance (the recall group about which you've heard the most here, and which intended to officially file next week) is the following release:

As was previously announced, some members of the BPA were intending to file a recall petition against Mayor Vera Katz on June 6th.  That filing will now be postponed pending the outcome of the recall petition filed yesterday by Marvin Moore of the Recall Vera Katz Committee.
Although the BPA is concerned that Mr. Moore, who recently filed a complaint against the BPA, may not have undertaken adequate planning prior to filing to ensure a successful outcome, the BPA supports his effort.  Members of the BPA will be contacting the Recall Vera Katz Committee to obtain petitions and offer our assistance in acquiring signatures.
The desire to recall Mayor Vera Katz spans the entire political spectrum in Portland.  The BPA, which is committed to improving the City of Portland, believes the recall of Mayor Vera Katz will be a vital first step in restoring jobs and justice to the people of Portland.

While I remain unconvinced that any of these recall efforts will work (or whether they will contribute or distract to the poltical debate necessary as we grow closer to the mayoral election anyway), this would appear to be a smart move on the part of the BPA.

What remains unclear, however, is just how Marvin Moore and the Recall Vera Katz Committee will respond to this, and just how closely they will want to work with the group against which Moore recently filed a complaint with the city and state elections offices.

Perhaps we should start developing a flow chart to properly track all of this arcane maneuvering.

We wish to contact Mr Moore asap, we have reserved time in the media to discuss this joint effort,as one would think he would like too do.

We are not sure Mr Moore reconizes the uphill battle this is, which is one of the reasons we held back before a planned earlier filing.

We now have some money, over one hundred signed volunteers, a free and very active website, lots of free printing services and many options to draw from to assist.

We want the same thing.....so as "true" will allow, I'll keep all Portland media updated in a timely fashion, but as of this posting there has been no contact with Mr Moore.

    We want to help.

The am paper says Mr Moore,is open to discussions on working our groups together to recall the mayor.

We certainly are as well, if any of you know the gentleman, please have him contact "true" as I'am asking him to work with us as well to keep you all up
totally informed as to our work.

I like this site. It's setup very nicely. I like the colors too.

This an interesting advertising scam you guys have going there, "Cover letter."

Doing some Googling, I see that you (or someone at your company) used to just burst into people's comments and post a long string of your company's URLs, mostly when they were totally irrelevant to the topic at hand, right out in the open in the comment text.

But now you come in and make a vaguely-relevant comment, and include just one of your company's URLs in the user information for the comment.

Clever, I suppose. But it's pissing me off.
