The PBA and SB 742

Previously, I mentioned an article in which the Portland Business Alliance was backing a law to strength trespass law, and mentioned as well some resulting confusion as to whether the article suggested that the PBA also backed SB 742 (the "protest as terrorism" bill).

At the time, I argued that the article did not suggest such a thing, but I put in an email to the PBA. Here is the response from Mike Salsgiver, Government Affairs Manager for the Alliance:

At this time, the Alliance has not taken a position on SB 742.

So there you have it.

By the way, I realize that I should also check in with the Citizen's Crime Commission, which is a front group for the PBA, and has come out in favor of changes to the ORS 181 laws.

The response from Maggie Miller regarding my question about any possible CCC position on SB 742:

CCC has no involvement in this issue.
