Call Mayor, Oppose Increased Force

This one is important. Since the protests here in Portland began a week ago, the Mayor's office has been receiving calls on the issue of police force. Overwhelmingly -- some reports indicate a split of about 80% to 20% -- the callers are requesting that more force be used against protestors.

Call the mayor's office at 503-823-4120 and oppose the increased use of force. They are tallying these calls, and you may even be asked to elaborate beyond a simple "use less force" vote, so it seems as if they might be taking specific notes on calls as well.

Making these calls is not optional. Go.

While you're at it, request that the Peace Camp across the street from City Hall be remained to stay. More on this in the next item.
