You Cannot Petition the Council with Prayer!
Before I forget, I must pass along the following tidbit from Phil Stanford's column in Tuesday's Portland Tribune:
How much heat is Jim Francesconi getting for his "no" vote on the City Council's antiwar resolution? "I may need to get a new church," the commissioner remarked at a Southeast neighborhood meeting last week.
It's nice to see that rebuffing an attempt to protest an un-American pre-emptive strike is providing the Commissioner with opportunities to crack jokes.
