Onward Unto the Fireworks

Just about that time. In another hour, the Portland City Council takes up a resolution against war with Iraq. In another hour, we find out if the peanut gallery can keep their mouths shut long enough for the proceedings to actually, well, proceed. Although I dismiss such an argument, one could be made that at least during the JTTF hearing, the results were a foregone conclusion.

In this case, it remains somewhat up in the air. So we'll see if those in attendance can manage to satisfy themselves with actually getting a public hearing before the Council on such a resolution, and not devolve themselves into stroking their egos by mouthing off to the man from the balcony for three hours.

And if the idiot few do manage to act up, we'll see if Mayor Katz has the leadership capacity to avoid, this time, threatning to oust everyone -- not just the malcontents -- from chambers.
