Tonight at the Delta
Meanwhile, performing tonight at the Delta Cafe (4607 SE Woodstock) is Kaitlyn ni Donovan in her self-described "ukulele love-in" -- although this does not mean she will be playing that particular instrument the entire time.
In essence, this entry is my plug for one of the local musicians I actually know. Once described by a local weekly as a "witchy chanteuse", Kaitlyn's recent gigs have been laid back and chock full of old songs, new songs, and a curious selection of cover songs requested by her fans (who sometimes by their selections seem to be trying to praise her with torture).
Show starts at 10:00 PM.

Perhaps strangest of all was being back in the space that used to be 17 Nautical Miles, which has now been subsumed within an expanded Delta Cafe. Nautical was a dank and cold cement basement of a place in its day. Now that same space has been Deltafied and for anyone who remembers Nautical, the effect is quite surreal.

And an experience I've yet to partake.
Did my semi annual 17 Nautical search on the web and found these (tempered) kind comments about the late, defunct shithole I ran during some alcohol soaked early twenties years.
thank you for the mostly fond nostalgia.
